We are hiring for an Administrative Support Staff position.

Job Summary:

This position involves administrative support for the Governor’s Scholars Program’s year-round activities. The mission of the Governor’s Scholars Program is to enhance Kentucky’s next generation of civic and economic leaders. GSP’s flagship initiative is a five-week residential summer program occurring on three host campuses across the state. Administrative personnel are responsible for providing clerical support to ensure efficient operation of the GSP central office. This position will provide direct support to the GSP fiscal office and GSP Foundation in processing donations and reconciling transactions, processing sales of GSP merchandise (using Shopify), and organizing/tracking inventory. They will also assist with distributing merchandise, office supplies, and instructional materials to the GSP summer Program sites. Additional responsibilities in support of the Program include processing student applications, data entry, photocopying/filing, and communications with GSP constituencies.  

Hours:  Regular duties are M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm, with occasional evening and weekend hours required during the summer Program.

Location:  Position is based in Frankfort, KY; involves occasional travel during the summer Program.

​Minimum Qualifications:

  • ​Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but direct experience in an administrative assistant and/or sales role may be substituted for a degree.
  • Prior ex​perience with or understanding of the Governor’s Scholars Program is preferred.  Alumni of the GSP are encouraged to apply!
  • ​Proficiency in MS office is required; experience with Shopify, Little Green Light, or CRM software is a plus.
  • ​Ability to learn new​​ software quickly.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work.​
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.​
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • ​Ability to lift and carry boxes of merchandise, up to 50​ pounds.
Salary/Benefits:
  • As an entry-level position, expected salary range is $40,000-$45,000, commensurate with previous experience.
